HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — It will be an American Girl extravaganza this weekend when the Jeslyn Dance Gallery in Huntington hosts a special pageant.

“We are having a fashion show with American Girl historic costumes,” Jessica Fox, director of Jeslyn, said. “There will be 75 local models with costumes straight from American Girl.”

The well-known doll company partners with non-profits across the country to help those organizations with fund raising.

“I have loved American Girl products since I was a little girl,” Fox said. “When I found out they partnered, I sent in an application and went through the process.”

Tickets to the fashion show also allow young girls access to the American Girl hair salon where area hairdressers will restyle the dolls’ locks, an American Girl boutique and a photography shoot.

“A local photographer has donated his time to take pictures of the girls with their dolls,” Fox said. “It will make a memory for the girl.”

General admission tickets are $30 and the first four rows of the theater will be roped off for a VIP section where for $75 there will be additional gift bags for those in that section.

There will also be a huge raffle with $300 level items.

“This is our first time and we are hoping to make it an annual event,” Fox said.

Friday’s show is 6:30 p.m.; Saturday’s shows are 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and Sunday is at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door or ahead of time by calling the box office at 304-697-0602. The gallery is at 1030 Fourth Ave.
