The Lawrence County Child Welfare Club is gearing up for its annual spring luncheon fundraiser.

The fundraiser is designed to help fulfill the club’s mission of improving the quality of life for the children in the county.

“We put on numerous projects,” said Pat Wiseman, co-chair person for the luncheon. “We do Secret Santa, Tools for Schools. We sponsor scholarships through OUS. We just do anything we can to contribute to many causes for children.”

The spring luncheon is set for April 10, at the First Church of the Nazarene on the corner of Fourth and Pleasant streets. Doors will open at noon and the lunch will start at 12:30 p.m.

“This is the biggest fundraiser we do,” Wiseman said. “So much of the things we can do in the community are based off the money we’ll raise at this event.”

The $8 lunch will include chicken salad, fruit, croissants, a drink and desert. For more information on the lunch or the Child Welfare Club call Sharon Donahue at 740-533-9431 or Eleanor McCown at 740-532-9429.
