ROME TOWNSHIP — Stacie Stoll, the director of sales and marketing for Chancellor Senior Management, was the guest speaker at the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce’s monthly fourth Friday luncheon.

Chancellor owns and operates 14 senior living communities in Ohio and West Virginia. Stoll was on hand to discuss the company’s newest facility, which is currently under construction in Rome Township.

“We focus our builds in small rural towns,” Stoll said. “Places others won’t build in. We do this because we value middle America and understand its importance to our country.”

The facility, called The Wyngate at Rivers Edge, will include 28 independent living units, 59 assisted living units and an on-site medical center.

“The medical center is a first time venture,” Stoll said. “We’ve never done that before but we have the opportunity here thanks to a partnership with Cabell-Huntington Hospital from West Virginia.”

The medical center will also be open to the public; so all residents of eastern Lawrence County can take advantage of the health care offered. On top of the medical center, Stoll discussed other ways in which the senior living community will impact the area.

“The Wyngate at Rivers Edge will bring an estimated million dollars to the local economy,” Stoll said. “As well as provide around 40 new jobs. We want to be a part of the community and we encourage our residents to be as active as they can be in the community.”

The assisted living portion of the facility is scheduled to open in June. Stoll is hopeful that the independent living and medical center buildings will be completed by the end of August.

“We got a little behind because of the weather this winter,” she said. “But, we are getting to it now and we expect the assisted living building to be finished in June. We’re also hopeful the remaining components of our campus will open before August ends.”

The chamber will not have a fourth Friday luncheon in April because the chamber’s annual Spotlight dinner is set to take place on April 24. The dinner and accompanying silent auction will feature Jim Thornton, announcer for “Wheel of Fortune,” as the keynote speaker.
