Rosalie Coronado

Rosalie Coronado, 64, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky., with her husband and family at her side.

She was born Aug. 24, 1949, a daughter of the late Agnes Gollihue and the late Robert Adkins. She was a former business owner of her own restaurant named Rosie’s in N.C. and a former nurses assistant at Bryants Nursing Home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny and Steve Adkins; and her son-in-law, William (Bill) Waddell.

She is survived by her husband at home, Emilo Dominguez; a son, Otto Douglas (Jennifer)Graham; two daughters, Angela Dawn (George Hall) Graham and Christina (Billy) Martin; six sisters, Paula Blankenship, Sandy Gollihue, Rita Russell, Lori Adkins, Janet Nives and Nancy Hackworth; eight grandchildren, Candice Waddell, Rebecca Waddell Miller, William Lee (Bill) Waddell III, Justin Douglas Waddell, Chasity Rose Martin, Arinna Sky Estes, Amber Nicole Davis, Jessica Dawn Thibodaux; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of the Brown Funeral Chapel with Pastors Jeff Cremeans and Mark Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Hanging Rock Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 until 9 pm. today at the funeral chapel. Memorial donations should be made to the funeral chapel to help with final expenses. Ruth Adkins

Ruth Ellcessor Adkins, 86, of Gahanna, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at the New Albany Gardens and Care Center in New Albany, but grew up most of her life in South Point. The Ironton native was born April 2, 1928, a daughter of the late Tom and Lena Neal Ellcessor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Adkins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy R. Adkins. Mrs. Adkins was a graduate of South Point High School and the St. Mary’s School of Nursing, where she received her Registered Nurse degree. Ruth worked at St. Mary’s hospital in Huntington W.Va., the veterans hospital in Barboursville W.Va., and later she worked in nursing facilities in Columbus. Ruth was a member of the South Point Methodist Church for many years and had been attending Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Gahanna.

She is survived by four sons, Dr. Gregory L. (Denise) Adkins, of Alexandria, Va., James (Vicki) Adkins, of Gahanna, Jerry (Rhonda) Adkins, of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Donald (Ellen) Adkins, of South Point; a sister, Virginia (Eldon) Ronning, of Worthington; and sister-in-law, Gail Adkins Proide, of Knoxville Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Ruth was an avid college sports fan, never missing an Ohio State basketball or football game on TV. She loved to follow the Buckeye players and kept up with them when they went to the pros. When she was not watching the Buckeyes, Ruth liked to follow Marshall and the Kentucky Wildcats.

In lieu of flowers, Ruth has requested donations be made to the Christian Appalachian Project.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Gahanna.
