AID — The Symmes Valley Vikings are hoping a win on Tuesday will bring a win on Thursday.

The Vikings blanked the Sciotoville East Tartans 10-0 in five innings Tuesday as they prepare for Thursday’s Southern Ohio Conference showdown at Portsmouth Notre Dame.

Symmes Valley (15-2, 12-1) needs a win Thursday to earn a share of the league title with the Titans.

“We played pretty well. Hopefully it will be a tune-up for Thursday,” said Vikings’ coach Chad Renfroe.

Three Symmes Valley pitchers combined to limit East to one hit.

The Vikings had nine hits with Dillon McFann going 2-2 and Seth Jarrell 2-4.

In the first inning, the Vikings took a 2-0 lead on a walk to Tanner Mays, a single by McFann, an error and a passed ball.
