Thomas Templeton
Thomas Roscoe Templeton, 95, of Chesapeake, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born in Getaway on July 31, 1918, a son of the late Alma Lenora Langdon Templeton and Phillip Armour Templeton. Tom was a graduate of Chesapeake High School. He retired from the Appalachian Power Company where he was supervisor of the transportation department. In addition, he continued the tradition of farming the land that had been in his family for many generations. He was a member of New Baptist Church, a former member of the Getaway United Methodist Church, and served as a Gideon where he was the First Church Assignment Secretary of the Lawrence East Gideon Camp.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Carolyn June Templeton; brothers, Kenneth Emerson Templeton and Phillip Roy Templeton; and nephew, Jeffrey Templeton. He is survived by his daughters, Tommie Sue Templeton and her husband, Thomas Williams, of South Point, and Peggy Ann King and her husband, Edward King, of South Charleston, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Michalle Oldaker and her husband, Charles, Susan Arthur, Megan Young and her husband, Gregory, and T.R. Hannan; five great-grandchildren, Ryan Ashworth, Blake Ashworth, Jordan Storms, Allison Young and Sydney Young; three stepgreat-grandsons, Austin, Tristin and Braxton Oldaker; sister-in-law, Barbara Davis Templeton; nephew, Michael Templeton (Sandy); nieces, Theresa Marchetti (Michael), Tracy Smith (Todd) and Beverly Olson (James).
He was a kind, humorous, and faithful servant of his Lord and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family would like to express their appreciation for the staff of Midland Meadows Assisted Living, especially Rhonda Jobe, for the loving care that he received.
In celebration of his life, pastor Trent Eastman will conduct a service at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Sunday prior to the service. Pallbearers are T.R. Hannan, Ryan Ashworth, Blake Ashworth, Michael Templeton, Thomas Templeton and Charles Oldaker. Honorary pallbearers are Edward King and Thomas Williams. Memorial contributions of Gideon Bibles are suggested to the Gideon International, P.O. Box 687, Proctorville, OH 45669. Brenda Brown
Brenda Sue Maines Brown, 56, of Ironton, passed away Monday, May 12, 2014, at the St. Mary’s Medical Center-Ironton Campus. The Ironton native was born Dec. 25, 1957, the daughter of the late Carl and Nellie Lovejoy Maines. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, William “BenJoe” Brown, whom she married May 6, 1977.
Brenda was a 1976 graduate of Ironton High School and a homemaker. She was of the Christian faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Maines; and her mother-in-law, Bonnie Brown.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Tracy Brown Dickerson, of Ironton; and a son, Scott Brown, of Ironton; ex-daughter-in-law, Ronda Brown, of Ironton; two sisters, her twin sister, Linda (Lawrence) Waddell, of Franklin Furnace, and Carla Maines, of Ironton; two brothers, Carl (Sue) Maines, of Ironton, and Michael Maines, who is serving in the U.S. military; three grandchildren, Whytley Hanshaw, Ethan Roberts and Bryson Brown, all of Ironton; two brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; special friends, Rick and Melanie Ibarra, of Springfield; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

John Myers
John Randall Myers, 60, of South Point, died Thursday, May 15, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Carol Myers. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.
Edith Ansell
Edith Louisa Ansell, 89, of Chesapeake, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at home.
There will be no services.
