Jerry Cade

Jerry “Bub” Cade, 60, of Pedro, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014, at his home.

He was born in Newark, a son of the late William Ellsworth Cade and Mary Dell Jenkins Cade and the parents who raised him, John and Dot DeLong. Jerry was a former truck driver, member of the Moose, VFW and a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Junior Cade, William Joseph Cade and Gary Cade; and two sisters, Willa “ Cookie Cade Phillips, and Rosanne Carmen.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years at home, Jane Cade; five daughters, Mary (Noah) Reed, Chrissy Buck, Misty Hart, Lori King and Ruby (Drake) Cade Adams; three brothers, James Cade, Roger Cade and Charles (JoAnn) McCormick; nine sisters, Mary (Rev. James) Cremeans, Julie (Don) Cade, Penny (David) Knowles, Peggy Pineda, Dottie Russle, Nancy Hackworth, Mary DeLong Hayes and Carol Jean Horner; 15 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Brown Funeral Chapel with pastor Willard Blankenship and pastor Kenny Jiles officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrence Furnace Cemetery. Memorial donations to help his wife with final expenses are greatly appreciated.

Friends may call from 6 until 9 p.m. on Thursday at the chapel. Friends and family may share condolences and memories on the Facebook page for the Brown Funeral Chapel.

His wife has entrusted his care to Brown Funeral Chapel at Ironton.

 

 

Joyce Mills

Feb. 18, 1940 — May 25, 2014

 

Joyce Marie Boyles Mills, 74, of Wurtland, Ky., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 25, 2014, at her residence.

Mrs. Mills was born Feb. 18, 1940, in Ironton, a daughter of the late Clyde and Mae Moeller Massie. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Boyles; and two brothers, Ron Massie and Raymond Massie.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Greenup, Ky., and was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and the Ohio University Southern Campus.

Surviving are her husband, Jim Mills; one daughter, Kim Boyles of South Point; and special friend, Penny Absher; one son, Chuck (Annette) Boyles of Raceland, Ky.; one brother, Ralph Massie of Ironton; and one grandson, Tyler Boyles of Raceland, Ky.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Evans Funeral Home in Raceland.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Greenup by the Dr. Tom Melvin. Burial will be in the Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, Ky.
