Ironton boys’ basketball
camp planned June 2-5
The annual Ironton Fighting Tigers’ boys’ basketball camp will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday through Thursday, June 2-5, at the Sports Center.
The camp is open to any boys in grades 3-9 as of the fall of 2014. Fee is $25.
Each camper will receive one cold beverage each day and a T-shirt at the end of camp.
There will be a free breakfast and lunch each day of camp. Breakfast is from 8:30-8:50 a.m. and lunch from noon to 12:30.

The annual Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers’ basketball camp will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday through Thursday, June 9-12, at the Sports Center.
The camp is open to any girls in grades 3-9 as of the fall of 2014. Fee is $25.

Participants will receive a free breakfast before camp at 8:30 a.m. and lunch after camp each day.

Reds Legends youth
baseball clinic set
The annual Cincinnati Reds Legends youth baseball clinic will be June 16-18 at the V.F.W. Field in Marietta for youths ages 4-19.
Former Reds conducting the clinic include Ron Oester, Clay Carroll, Reggie Sanders, Todd Benziner, Eddie Milner, Leo Cardenas, Pokey Reese and Steve Larkin.

The Coal Grove Hustlin’ Hornet boys’ basketball camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 2-5 at the high school.
The camp is for boys entering grades 1-8. Fee is $25 and registration will begin at 8 a.m. Each camper receives a T-shirt.

Lil’ Lady Hornets’
basketball camp set
The Coal Grove Lil’ Lady Hornets basketball camp will be held from 9-11 a.m. on June 2-3-4 at the Dawson-Bryant Elementary.
Fee is $30 and registration is from 8:30-9 a.m. Monday, June 2. The camp is hosted by Lady Hornets’ head coach Rick Roach.
Lady Dragons plan

The Fairland Lady Dragons’ basketball camp for girls entering grades 1-8 will be held from 9-to-11:30 a.m. June 2-5 in the high school gym.
Fee is $35 per camper and $60 for families of two.
The camp will consist of fundamental work on shooting, ball handling, passing, defending, team play and contests. Prizes will be awarded daily.

Herd baseball camps
to be held in June
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The Marshall baseball camps will be held at various sites, dates and times throughout June.
Registration is first-come, first-serve and open to anyone in grades K-8. Fee is $75 for three-day camps and $50 for two-day camps. Both can be paid the day of the camp but early registration is recommended.
Camps are 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dates and sites are: June 2-4 Barboursville Little League; June 9-11 League 3 LL field in Huntington; June 16-18 Mason County LL in Point Pleasant; June 19-20 Ashland American LL in Ashland, Ky.
Collins Career Center’s golf scramble June 7
The Collins Career Center gold scamble will be held Saturday, June 7, at Diamond Links Golf Course in Catlettsburg, Ky.
Check in begins at 7:15 a.m. with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
Entry fee is $65 per player and includes green fees and cart. Lunch is provided by Texas Road House including a gift bag.
Prizes will be awarded to first, second and last place teams along with longest drive, closest to pin and longest putt.

Free sports physicals Thursday at KDMC
King’s Daughters’ Medical Center Ohio on Scioto Trail in Portsmouth — in cooperation with Trinidad Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine and Tri-State Rehab — will provide free sports physicals Thursday for any student/athletes residing in Lawrence, Scioto and Pike counties in Ohio and Greenup County, Ky.
Physicals are on a first-come, first-scheduled basis and are available to studnets ages 12 and up. Students must bring the sports physical form with them to the appointment. Forms are available from coaches, athletic directors or on the OHSAA website.
Parent or legal guardian must be present to provide consent for students under age 18.

Annual Run By The River scheduled for June 14
Regisgtration is underway for the 37th annual Run By The River 5K or 10K running or walking course to be held Saturay, June 14.
The race is in downtown Russell, Ky., and begins at 8:30 a.m.
Those wishing to enter the special events must pre-register by June 7. Groups must consist of 10 or more runners and each person in the group qualifies for a special reduced registration fee of $18.
Race day registration begins at 7 a.m. Those who pre-registered will pick up their packets at a special tent, while those who need to registered on the day of the race will report to a separate tent.
Entries received by June 7 will qualify for a discounted fee of $20 ($18 for groups). After that date the entry fee will be $25, except for entrants 14 and under who are charged $20 through race day. Each participant will receive a top quality color block tech shirts and a goody bag.

Rio Grande announces summer hoops camps
The University of Rio Grande is conducting various sports camps this summer.
Men’s basketball: Little Storm day camp for ages 6-9 is 9 a.m. to noon June 9-11. Cost is $60. Checks should be made payable to Big Red Basketball Camp.
One-day camps:
Junior varsity shootout June 8. Varsity and junior varsity shootouts are June 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20. Costs is $170 and teams will play at least four games.
Point guard camp for boys and girls ages 12-18 is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 14. Cost is $30.
A boys and girls shooting camp for ages 8-18 will be from 9 a.m. to noon June 16-18. Fee is $60 each.
The Hard Work Camp is for boys ages 10-16 June 22-26. Fee is $200 for commuters and $285 for overnight camps. Fees include meals, lodging, camp jersey, T-shirt and awards.

Youth fastpitch softball
tournament planned
The West Virginia Dusters will conduct the Battle on the Hill youth 8u to 14u fastpitch softball tournament May 31 to June in Ashland, Ky.
Entry fee is $250 and four games guaranteed. Approved ASSSA softballs will be used and all balls will be supplied.

Roosters Tournament planned for June 21
The third annual Roosters Softball Tournament will be held June 21 in Huntington, W.Va.
Men will begin on Saturday and co-ed on Sunday.
Entry fee is $170 or $150 if paid by June 18. A bracket party will be held on June 18.
The home run limit will be two plus DHH.
Shirts for champions and sponsor trophy for top two teams will gbe given bases on the number of teams.
