Robert Keith Roberts, 70, of Ashland, Ky., passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, at his residence. The Ironton native was born May 18, 1944, the son of the late Robert “Ned” and Juanita Patterson Roberts.
Mr. Roberts was a graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a former lab technician for Ironton Iron and the Dayton Malleable. He was a member of the Arabia Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Philip Roberts.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Keith Roberts II, of Ironton, and Derek Ryan, Roberts, of Ashland; two sisters, Hilda Jean Terry, of South Point, and Penny (Jack) Davis, of Ironton; and three grandchildren, Corey Roberts, Marissa Roberts and Sarah Roberts, all of Grayson, Ky.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Ron Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Mamre Cemetery with military graveside rites by the VFW Post 8850. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Robert Roberts, Derek Roberts, Corey Roberts, Philip Roberts, Dustin McWharter, Jeff Lucas and Frank Patterson. Donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
