Project has extra benefits

Within the next month, a long-awaited vision will be a reality for the eastern end of Lawrence County.
The new Wyngate at RiversEdge senior community in Proctorville is a positive step for those who were in need of either independent or assisted living throughout the area.
But that is not the only positive garnered from the project, as it will also serve as a boost to the county economy.
This is a welcome addition because it will not only create new jobs, but could possibly inspire other developments.
Additionally, this can help fill a housing void for those who want to find quality housing while maintaining that sense of community that is important to residents throughout Lawrence County and the region.
The facility will provide beneficial aspects to residents and community that include an on-site medical facility, a beauty salon and a common area for residents to gather and socialize.
We would like to see this project help pave the way for a partnership that could return a senior center to the eastern end of the county that was lost when the Sybene Center closed in Burlington.
Promoting economic development can be difficult, but it can always be a reality with the support of partnerships and community involvement.
