Global warming mania

Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is essential to life on earth. It is directly responsible for the food we eat.
This evil carbon dioxide is a vital chemical compound that plants require to live and grow and synthesize oxygen for human and animal life.
There is no convincing scientific evidence that human-caused release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses will cause catastrophic heating of the atmosphere and disruption of the climate.
The assertion that 97 percent of scientists believe that climate change is a man-made, urgent problem, is pure bunk. For an informative read on the background of the 97 percent myth, Google: “The Myth of the Climate Change 97 percent,” by Joseph Bast and Roy Spencer.
After reviewing available data Mr. Bast and Dr. Spencer arrive at the conclusion that, “There is no basis for the claim that 97 percent of scientists believe that man-made climate change is a dangerous problem.”
No one now in high school has lived through global warming. Satellite data shows no global warming at all from August 1996 to April 2014. This is more than half the period of time, which began in January 1979, that satellites have been monitoring the earth’s temperatures.
Left-leaning politicians have taken an issue that is extremely important to everyone on the planet and turned it in to a political war. The global warming/climate change mania they have stirred-up will cause “trillions” of dollars to be wasted or misdirected. Public moderated debates are badly needed.
The headline “Revolt! Six major unions beg the Senate to stop EPA coal regulations,” just about floored me when I read it in The Daily Caller recently. Obama’s crack-down on coal-fired power plants was getting flak from a traditionally Democratic ally. Unions!
By reading the article I learned that six major unions sent a letter to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee requesting that they hold hearings on the economic impact of the EPA’s proposed regulations.
An article in the Wall Street Journal, “Stranded Carbon Democrats,” gave me insight on what is really happening.
The national Democrats have joined forces with the left-wing environmentalists over the working-class voters who have traditionally been their base. “Finance (New York and San Francisco) is more honored than manufacturing (Ohio and Indiana).
The top 10 states with the least carbon impact are liberal states that vote Democratic, produce or use less carbon energy, depend less on manufacturing and already have limits or higher costs on fossil fuel.
The top 10 states with the most carbon impact are major fossil-fuel producing states; gas and oil or coal, and still rely heavily on coal to produce electricity. The hardest hit states are not Democratic.
This tactic could haunt the Democrats in Kentucky, West Virginia, Montana, Alaska and Louisiana. The Democrats are trying to hold or gain Senate seats in these states. If voters in these states ever figure out what the carbon rule really means to their economies, Democrats would lose every state.
When discussing global warming the question we should be asking is not if man is causing global warming, but can man fix global warming, if it ever existed?
