Helen Bailey

Helen Louise Bailey, 85, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at her residence. The Lawrence County native was born July 31, 1928, a daughter of the late Lewis and Dora Mae (Delawder) Aldridge. She was also preceded in death on Oct. 9, 1999, by her husband Harry Clifford Bailey, whom she married July 12, 1942.

Mrs. Bailey was a homemaker and attended the Ironton City Mission Church.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Bailey; and 12 brothers and sisters.

Helen is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Harry and Mary Bailey, of Ironton; a daughter, Judy Sisler, of Ironton; a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Danny Jenkins, of Ironton; a daughter, Dora Bailey, of Ironton; eight grandchildren, LaDonna Sisler, Kayla (Joseph) Brown, Kenneth Jenkins, Kimmy (Everett) Riffe, T.J. (Sara) Boggs, Anna Smith, Bryan Bailey and Amber Bailey; and 10 great-grandchildren,Gabby, Hunter, Jacob, Wyatt, Allysia, Savanna, Alex, Braylin, Harmonee and Harley.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. James Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Jenkins, Danny Jenkins, Everett Riffe, Joseph Brown, T.J. Boggs and Brian Bailey. John Frederick Perdue, 68, of Chesapeake, died Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, W.Va. He is survived by his wife, Gaynelle “Gail” Maynard Perdue.
