Lawrence Aldridge

Lawrence Aldridge, 51, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born July 25, 1962, the son of Pauline Walizer Aldridge of Ironton and the late Lawrence J. Aldridge. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Cheryl Denise Moore Aldridge.

Mr. Aldridge attended Ironton High School, was a member of the Ironton Eagles, Moose Lodge and loved playing cards. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kayla and Ron Fry, of Ironton; a son and fiancée, Jerry Stapleton and Heather Grant, of Ironton; five grandchildren, Laney and Allison Fry, Kadence, Jerry and Royce Stapleton; one sister, Connie Aldridge Russell, of Ironton; two brothers, Ronnie Aldridge and Mike Aldridge, both of Ironton; and many loving niece, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hanging Rock Cemetery and visitation will be Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

 

Richard Sharp

Richard Sharp, 66, of Wurtland, Ky., died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. He was the husband of Lori Schroeder Sharp. He was born March 7, 1947, to the late Alpha Junior Sharp and Mary Lou Rowe Sharp Akers.

He was an Army veteran and a member of the VFW Post 8850. He was of Methodist faith. He is survived by his wife and children, Richard Franklin (Missy) Sharp, of Tomah, Wis., James Michael Sharp, of Rock Camp, Kimberly Sharp, of South Point, Misty (Shawn) Wilson, of Coal Grove, Brooke Terrill (Sparkle) Sharp, of Wurtland, Ky.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Glen (Patty) Sharp, Frank Sharp, both of Ironton, and Jimmy (Melissa) Akers, of South Point; one sister, Vicki Akers Roberts, of Ironton; and several nieces and nephews.

A committal service will be held at noon Wednesday in the Veterans Section at Woodland Cemetery. O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

 

Rita Brubaker

Rita Brubaker, 83, of South Point, died Monday, June 23, 2014, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. Arrangements are pending at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home.
