Starting on Monday there will be a police clerk at the Ironton Police Station through the week.

Cindy Prater will start as police clerk at 8 a.m. Monday. Hours for the clerk on duty will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“She will deal with the public and hand out reports,” Ironton Police Chief Dan Johnson said.

Copies of reports are $4 and rummage sale permits are $5. The clerk will only take fines for parking citations. Moving violation citations will go to Ironton Municipal Court.

“If anybody needs to get a vehicle out of the impound lot, she can help,” Johnson said.
