Ralph Fields

Ralph Fields, 76, of Ironton, passed away, Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. The Ironton native was born July 6, 1938, a son of the late Felix and Dorsa Little Fields. His wife, Carol Ross Fields, who passed away May 18, 2003, preceded him in death.

Mr. Fields attended Ironton High School and was a self-employed painter. He spent most of his life in Ironton and was of the Protestant faith.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenny Fields; and five brothers, Walter Fields, Felix Fields, Jack Fields, William Fields and Jerry Fields.

He is survived by five children, Gregory Fields, of Albuquerque, N.M., Chris Fields, of Proctorville, Mark Fields, of Patriot, Tonya Fields, of Detroit, Mich., and Bonnie Fields, of Ironton; a brother, Jim Fields, of Fairborn; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday in Sugar Creek Cemetery with the Rev. James Cremeans officiating. There will be no visitation and Phillips Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

 

Bonnie Allen

Bonnie Sue Allen, 69, of Ashland, Ky., passed away Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. The Elliott County, Ky. native was born Nov. 24, 1944, a daughter of the late Albert and Lula Pennington Riffe.

Mrs. Allen attended Dawson-Bryant schools and was a housewife. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Ashland.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Justin B. Allen.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Thomas Allen, whom she married April 10, 1963; daughter, Jennifer and Paul Dickerson, of Marion, Ill.; son, Brian Allen, of Ironton; four grandchildren, Jessica Burke, Bradley Allen, Nathan Dickerson and Trenton Allen; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Burke, Caleb Burke, Christopher Burke III and Rowyn Allen; sister, Majorie L. Caldwell, of Bradner; and two brothers, James Riffe, of Webville, Ky., and Glen Riffe, of Grayson, Ky.

Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home in Ironton with pastor John Rule officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Norman Kleinman

Norman F. Kleinman, of South Point, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ironton with Fr. David Huffman officiating. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
