Beginning next week another component of the economic development upswing will be realized for Lawrence County, Southern Ohio and the region when the intermodal port that will be known as the “Port of South Point” is dedicated adjacent to the The Point industrial park in South Point on Tuesday.
This project will have a positive impact and help provide a boost for the local economy through job creation and increased revenue opportunities for businesses.
The ability to create new jobs while enhancing the attractiveness for new business is vital to the continued growth for the county and region.
While there are ports throughout the region, having a public port in the county that many companies can use will afford many new opportunities for both the region and businesses.
The ability for companies to potentially expand operations along with importing and exporting products through new avenues are just a couple of opportunities that can be realized with the port.
This is an important step in the continued development for Lawrence County and paves the way for future success that will be a benefit to residents and businesses alike.
Ultimately, this port will increase the current economic climate and enhance the outlook for the future and the county as a whole.
