PEDRO — In a see-saw affair, the River Valley Raiders were able to see their way to slip past the Rock Hill Redmen.

The Raiders took a 7-0 first quarter lead on a 45-yard run by Sam Payne and Zac Bokal’s conversion kick.

Rock Hill answered with a 35-yard scoring strike from Gabe Marzicola to Drew McClaskey and it was 7-6 in the second quarter.

The Redmen took the lead when Chance Blankenship broke loose on a 66-yard touchdown run and it was 12-7 at the half.

River Valley came back to take a 14-12 lead on a 1-yard scoring run by Justin Arrowood and Bokal’s kick in the third quarter.

The Raiders extended the lead to 20-12 on a 1-yard run by Campbell in the fourth quarter.

Rock Hill cut the deficit to 20-18 on a 3-yard scoring run by Jordan Blagg but the potential game-tying conversion run failed.

With time running out, Campbell scored on a 3-yard run to make it 26-18.

The Redmen had one final possession but they were unable to score.

Rock Hill visits Northwest this Friday.
