Mildred Bonner

Mildred Alma Bonner, 83, of Flatwoods, Ky., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.

Bonner was born on May 10, 1931, in Lamar County, Texas; a daughter of the late Sam and Alma Prickett Bradshaw. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James H. Bonner; two brothers, William E. and Robert Wayne Bradshaw; and a sister, Ruby Lee Cooper.

Bonner has been a member of First Baptist Church of Flatwoods since 1965, and loved volunteering in the church. She was a 1950 graduate of State High School in Tallulah, La. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and sewing.

She is survived by a son, James R. (Donna) Bonner of Lakeland, Fla.; four daughters, Carole (Robert) Goldcamp of Hanging Rock, Judy (Jerry) Williams, of Wurtland, Ky., Linda (Dan) Holmes of Westerville, and Ellen Bonner, of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Ruth Jones of Southhaven, Miss.; nine grandchildren, Barbara (Roy) Stimpert, Diane (Raymond) Stockton, Angela (Michael) Lewis, Chris (Jamie) Goldcamp, Matthew (Dora) Williams, Jennifer (Donnie) Gedeon, Allison (Garrison) Ball, Randi (Jason) Ward, Andrea (Ryan) Hale; 16 great-grandchildren; and a grandson on the way.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods with Pastor Jim Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.

The visitation will be from 12 p.m. until funeral time at the funeral home. Roy DePriest

Roy Henry DePriest, 83, of Piqua, died on July 9, 2014, at Piqua Manor Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobart and Bata Fields DePriest; three brothers, George, Charles and Raymond (infant) DePriest; and two sisters, Margaret Joseph and Gloria Boone.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Horwedel DePriest; three children, Nicole Kelbick, Christine Fortenberry and C. Anthony DePriest; and five grandchildren.

Memorial services were provided by Jamieson and Yannucci Funeral Home.

 

 

Clifford Fillinger

Clifford Leo Fillinger, Jr., 55, of Huntington, W.Va., died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at home. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rome Cemetery in Proctorville. Burial will follow. Joseph Fletcher

Joseph Fletcher, 78, of Ironton, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Ironton. Arrangements are pending at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home.

 

 

Clarence Smith

Clarence Andy Smith, 56, of Holly Springs, N.C., formerly of Russell, Ky., died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Karen York Smith. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Russell First Baptist Church, 901 Ashland Dr., Russell, with Pastor Ken Gowin officiating.
