Senior trio lead Coal Grove golfers’ win

PINE GROVE — Coal Grove seniors Brent Morgan, Brandon Adkins and Tori Holmes went out winners.
Barely.
The trio of seniors final home match produced a one-shot win over the Greenup County Musketeers in a golf tri-match Wednesday at the Ironton Country Club.
Morgan celebrated with a 34 to take medalist honors. Chase McKnight had a 47 and Adkins and Trevor Deere each shot a 48 for the Hornets’ season-high 177 total.
Holmes finished with a 50 and Ryan Malone had a 53.
The Ironton Fighting Tigers had a 186 total led by Cory Rawlins with a 41. Senior Jaylen Thornhill shot a 44, Mitchell Weisgarber carded a 45 while Trevin Dutey had a 56. Trevor Hacker and Chandler Dodson each had a 59.
Greenup’s Caleb Adkins had a 41, Levi Meadows and Austin Blevins each had a 43, Brett Bently 51, and Drew Shultz and Ethan Potter a 54 each.
