Chesy girls split VB games

CHESAPEAKE — It was an even split.

The Chesapeake Lady Panthers volleyball team went 2-2 during last week’s games.

On Monday, the Lady Panthers beat Fairview 25-23, 25-17 and 25-9 as Carley Lester scored 11 points.

Chesapeake won the reserve match 25-20, 25-10 as Maddy Rose had 13 points.

On Tuesday, Chesapeake fell to the Coal Grove Lady Hornets in five sets, 25-21, 23-25, 25-16, 27-29 and 10-15 in the tiebreaker. Jozy Jones topped Chesapeake with 17 points.

The Lady Hornets also won the reserve match in three sets, 25-10, 24-26 and 25-12. Lyric Bair had 5 points for the Lady Panthers.

On Thursday, Jones scored 19 points as the Lady Panthers went five sets to beat the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers, 25-14, 17-25, 16-25, 25-22 and 15-7.

Natalee Hall had 10 points as the Lady Panthers won the reserve match 25-15, 25-21.

On Saturday, Chesapeake played a varsity-only game against Minford and lost in another five-set match, 25-14, 25-21, 24-26, 24-26 and 18-20. Melanie Noble scored 22 points in the loss.

Chesapeake hosts Symmes Valley on Monday and visits Rock Hill on Tuesay and South Point on Thursday.
