BURLINGTON — The Concerned Citizens of the Burlington Area will host a Meet the Candidates Forum at 6 p.m. Thursday at Burlington Elementary School.

Candidates for Lawrence County Commissioner, incumbent Freddie Hayes Jr., Republican, and Tim Edwards, a Democrat, have been invited.

Also invited were U.S. Sixth Congressional District candidates.

Ed Moellendick, president of the CCB, said Dennis Lambert, Green Party candidate for Congress, has confirmed to attend.

Also expected to attend are State Rep. Ryan Smith, Republican, and Josh Bailey, Democrat, candidates for the 93rd District of Ohio House of Representatives.

The CCB has hosted Meet the Candidates for more than 20 years.

“I think it’s important for citizens to recognize and know their candidates and where they stand,” Moellendick, said.

Moellendick, who will moderate the forum, said the event has continued to grow, even during primary season elections.

“We are very proud of it,” he said.
