Treeman Owens

Treeman Bundy Owens, 97, of Waterloo, passed away Sept. 27, 2014, at Arbors of Gallipolis in Gallipolis. The Russell County, Virginia, native was born Aug. 8, 1917, the son of the late Andrew and Maude Myrtle Lipps Owens. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Eileen Owens, who passed away Oct. 23, 2013.

Mr. Owens attended Waterloo Schools and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Owens was a retired bus driver for Waterloo Schools, a farmer, a self-employed truck driver and a World War II Army veteran.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two brothers, Taulby and Glen Owens; a sister, Della Sheets Osborn; and a grandson, Chris Hively.

He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Marie Spangler, of Waterloo, and Wanda and Jimmy Hively, of Patriot; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary Owens and Jerry and Katie Owens, of Patriot; nine grandsons, Brad Hively, Jimmy, Mike, Anthony, David, and Matthew Owens, Gary Ross, Jamie and Jason Lyall; several nieces and nephews and their families; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Bob Dudding officiating. Harold Freeman

Harold “Butch” Freeman, 64, of Chesapeake, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at home. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. today at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville by pastor Ben Coleman. Kathy Foss

Kathy Lee Sheets Foss, 58, of Woodstock, Georgia, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, in Georgia. She is survived by her husband, Kevin T. Foss. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.

 

 

Carol Butcher

Carol Yvonne Butcher, 77, of South Point, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at Heartland of Riverview Nursing Home in South Point. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville by pastor Leon Dalton. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens. George Jenkins

George L. Jenkins, 56, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at his residence. The Ironton native was born March 27, 1958, a son of Paris Jenkins, of Franklin Furnace, and the late Ruth Whitt Jenkins. He is also survived by his wife, Teresa Brown Jenkins, whom he married March 13, 1976.

George attended Green High School and was of the Christian faith. He was a retired project manager for Jenkins Painting Company and an assistant administrator for Caring Hands Home Health Care. He enjoyed playing bluegrass and gospel music, camping and fishing with his family. He dearly loved his wife, children and grandchildren with all of his heart.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul David Jenkins and Bobby Jenkins.

In addition to his father and his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Melissa (Robert) Jenkins Stapleton and Melanie Jenkins, all of Franklin Furnace; five grandchildren, Marissa Lesley Boza, Kylie Paige Stapleton, Brody Robert Stapleton, Braydon Jozsef Boza, and Maecy Ann Caldwell, all of Franklin Furnace; and two brothers, Bill Jenkins, of Franklin Furnace, and Keith Jenkins, of Jamestown, North Carolina.

Graveside services for friends and family will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Haverhill Cemetery with the Rev. Rick Mollett officiating. Zane Adkins

Zane Michael Adkins, infant son of Zachary Lee and Shanna Diane Adkins, of Pedro, passed away Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Edwin and Nanabelle Adkins; a great-great-grandma, Florence Michaels; and an aunt, Ashley Adkins.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Zachary Lee Adkins II, of Pedro; grandparents, Mike and Brenda Adkins, of Pedro; great grandparents, Walter and Mary Howard, of Pedro; a cousin, Isabella White, of Pedro; and a host of aunts and uncles.

Clarence Zirkle

Clarence Zirkle, 59, of Huntington, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Zirkle. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.

 

 

Linda Williams

Linda Williams, 62 of Bruno, West Virginia, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at the Charleston General Hospital in Charleston, West Virginia. Arrangements are pending at Brown Funeral Chapel.
