Jordan Joseph

Nov. 16, 1989 — Sept. 30, 2014

 

Jordan Scott Joseph, 24, of Huntington, formerly of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, in Wayne County, West Virginia. The Ironton native was born Nov. 16, 1989, a son of Duane A. Joseph, of Ironton, and Melissa Collins Norris, of Ashland.

Jordan was a 2008 graduate of Ironton High School and Collins Career Center. He was employed by FedEx at the Tri-State Airport in Huntington and also worked from home for Apple Computers. He was a member of the National Honor Society and on the IHS bowling team. He loved making music and being with friends. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Margaret Collins; and an uncle, Randy Collins.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepmom, Kelli Rogers Joseph, of Ironton; a brother, Jonathan Joseph, of Ironton; three sisters, Carli Shope, Autumn Shope and Brooklyn Shope, all of Ironton; his paternal grandparents, Danny and Dee Joseph, of Ironton; two aunts, Danitra Nodland, of Minnesota, and Michele Collins, of Ashland; and five uncles, David Joseph, of Canada, Danny Joseph Jr., of Texas, Bruce Collins, Darryl Collins and Tim Collins, all of Ashland.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Brad Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to gofundme website. Angel Bradley

Dec. 5, 1978 — Sept. 30, 2014

 

Angel Lea Bradley, 35, of Wheelersburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was born Dec. 5, 1978, in Mingo County, West Virginia, to Troy Varney and Marie Blair Varney. She was a licensed LPN and a member of Sand Hill Christian Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Allen Bradley, whom she married Nov. 19, 1998, in Portsmouth. Also surviving are four daughters, Helen Bradley, Haley Bradley, Abigail Bradley and Aly Jo Bradley; her stepfather, John Wilson; one sister, Lisa Varney; and a sister-in-law and best friend, Karen, and her husband, George Bradley.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and three aunts.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Sand Hill Christian Baptist Church with pastor Ronnie Blevins officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour before the service at the church. Harrison Pyles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Terri Russell

April 16, 1960 — Sept. 26, 2014

 

Terri Lea Russell, 54, of Hudson, North Carolina, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson.

She was born in California on April 16, 1960. She was a loving mother of one son, Zane A. Fetter; and a true friend to all. She was a cancer survivor, all her life, never gave up. She showed everyone that no matter how sick you can be, you can always live your life and have fun.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Ironton High School.

 

 

Thelma Crance

Dec. 1, 1912 — Oct. 1, 2014

 

Thelma Crance, 101, of Ironton, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, at the Sanctuary at Ohio Valley. She was born Dec. 1, 1912, the daughter of the late Karl and Pauline Miller Lautenslager in Newark, the oldest member of Christ Episcopal Church in Ironton, member of Christ Episcopal Church Women, member of Cooperative Civic Club, graduate of Ironton High School in 1931, and worked in the Ironton City Manager’s Office as a clerk. Thelma served as secretary of the Civil Service Commission.

She was preceded by three husbands, George Krell, Curtis Massie and John Crance. Survivors include one son, David Massie, of Boise, Idaho; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharilyn and Ray Gibson, of Ironton; grandchildren Jeff (Tami) Gibson, of Ripley, Lori (Joe) Kania, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Mary Jo Gibson, of Ironton, Julie (Tim) Payton, Mt. of Lookout, West Virginia, Joni (Tom) Shaw, of Orlando, Florida, Colin Massie, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Cristen Anders, of Middletown; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Woodland Cemetery, Section B, with the Rev. Sallie Schisler officiating. O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

 

Kathy Foss

Kathy Lee Sheets Foss, 58, of Woodstock, Georgia, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2014. She is survived by her husband, Kevin T. Foss. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

Lucille Bays Witten, 85, of Flatwoods, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at Trinity Station Retirement Community in Flatwoods. Arrangements are pending at Bailey Family Funeral Home.
