PROCTORVILLE — The information is coming in. Joe Heinz would like some more.

Heinz — who played basketball at Fairland High School during the 1960s — is putting together a book of memories and has been soliciting information from former players, coaches, referees, school officials, statisticians, reporters and fans throughout Lawrence County who played for or against the Dragons.

To further his fact-finding search, Heinz will host a meeting from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Proctorville.

Heinz was part of the Dragons’ 1960-61 state tournament team known as “The Untouchables” and he is seeking information about that memorable season and coach Carl York.

Heinz encourages persons affiliated with St. Joseph, Coal Grove, Rock Hill, Chesapeake, South Point, Oak Hill and, of course, Fairland to attend and contribute. Also asked to attend are persons affiliated with Waterloo and Blackfork and anyone who was close friends with York.

Persons attending should turn left off of Route 7 at the second marathon gas station located across from the Lawrence County Fairgrounds. Travel on the road and continue until coming to a long curve.
