SOUTH POINT — There was a lot going on Thursday night.

The South Point Pointers were celebrating Senior Night, they were going for a single-season school record for wins, and they were looking to score some goals.

Everything got done.

The Pointers racked up a 10-0 win over the Chesapeake Panthers as they improved their record to 14-1.

South Point took a 9-0 lead in the first half. Micah Harris scored with an assist by Matt Krivan in the 14th minute for the first score and then the goals began to come in rapid succession.

Krivan had an unassisted goal one minute later, Trey Kearns scored with an assist from Alex Whitt in the 20th minute, and Jake Helton used a Whitt assist to score one minute later.

Whitt then scored a goal of his own with an assist from Tanner Mathes at 24:00 followed a minute later with an unassisted goal by Liam Huff.

Kearns and Gage Stephens had unassisted goals within a two-minute span and Whitt used an assist from Kearns to score the final goal of the half in the 35th minute.

Goalkeeper Brady Rickard scored the lone second half goal on a penalty kick. He also recorded 12 saves in posting the shutout.

The game matched brothers on opposite teams. Liam Huff plays for South Point and younger brother Noah plays for Chesapeake.

The Pointers hosts Huntington (W.Va.) St. Joseph at 4 p.m. Friday.
