Local businesses offer best to residents

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the local businesses for all they do for the people of the Ironton area. I would also like to encourage everyone to shop and do business in our town as much as you can.

I would like to take the time to recall some of the instances where our local professionals and service businesses have helped me recently. Late in 2013 I injured my rotator cuff playing softball. Dr. Joe Leith did my surgery and my arm was in a sling for two weeks.

Dr. Leith and his staff did a great job with the surgery and then came four weeks of rehabilitation with Joe Isaac and David Coburn at Tri- State Rehabilitation here in Ironton. I was back on the field playing softball in 12 weeks.

I have bought tires at Charlie’s Tires in Ironton for years. Mike and Charlie and their team are always great to work with. I have had a nail in my tire and Charlie’s has always fixed it and treated me great. I just don’t see any reason to buy anywhere else.

If Iron City Hardware doesn’t have what you need, Jim and the gang down there will try very hard to get whatever you need.

Tim Hall of Mullins Construction is doing a great job on the Gillispie project that is going on above our house now. Are you looking for entertainment for the young and old alike? Jeff Dillow has Spare Time Recreation located right here in the city. Jeff is a great guy and the spot is a great asset to our town.

Other spots to consider that we frequent are McCauley’s Furniture, Weber’s Florist and the food and service at Peddler’s Home Cooking is great. I can’t say enough about Phillips Funeral Home and the support they have given to ball teams and our city over my lifetime.

There are many great spots to frequent in Ironton. Please help support these businesses and the great service providers behind each business.
