SOUTH POINT — For a little more than a quarter, the South Point defense was holding up.

But the Lucasville Valley Indians turned to quarterback Bryan Rolfe who threw for five touchdowns — three in the second quarter — in a 41-14 win over the Pointers on Friday.

Rolfe finished 17 of 22 passing for 256 yards as Valley improved to 7-1.

Ryan Brown had seven catches for 130 yards and two touchdowns while Bryce Romanello had six grabs for 58 yards and two scores.

South Point (2-6) had 133 total yards with 56 coming on the ground. Quarterbacks Drew Adams and Brandin Jackson combined for 77 yards. Jackson was 1-of-2 for 56 yards and a touchdown to Stephen Wagoner.

Mason White ran three times for 38 yards for the Pointers. James Leonard had a 24-yard touchdown run.

Rolfe threw scoring strikes of 18 yards to Alex Loop and 19 and 6 to Brown in the second quarter as Valley went up 20-0 at the half.

Loop ran 4 for a touchdown in the third quarter and Rolfe hit Romanello with a 15-yard TD pass just before the end of the quarter.

South Point returns to Ohio Valley Conference play next Friday at Coal Grove.
