Steven Stone

June 29, 1968 — Oct. 20, 2014

Steven Joe Stone, 46, of Ashland, passed away Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at the Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Kentucky. The Ashland native was born June 29, 1968, the son of the late Hershel Edward and Audrey Eloise Baer Stone. He is survived by his wife, Sabrina Counts Stone, whom he married Feb. 14, 2006.

Steven was a 1986 graduate of Boyd County High School and a maintenance worker for McDonalds Corp. in Ashland. He was a member of the Big Sandy Volunteer Fire Department, the Fallsburg Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Durbin Church of the Nazarene. He was also a big Civil War buff.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a stepdaughter, Savannah (Chris) Nunley, of Ashland; a granddaughter, Emi Nunley, of Ashland; two sisters, Joetta Cyrus and Clara Cantrell, both of Catlettsburg, Kentucky; his stepmother, Kathleen Stone, of South Point; his stepsister, Kathy Blair, of South Point; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Big Sandy Volunteer Fire Department, (Bear Creek) 29019 Mayo Trail, Catlettsburg with pastors Brian Chaffins and Tim Stewart officiating. Burial will be Ogle Cemetery. Phillips Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Donations may be made to the Durbin Church of the Nazarene, 28410 U.S. 23, Catlettsburg, KY 41129. Geneva Freeman

Geneva Utz Freeman, 90 of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Raceland, Kentucky, died on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at Arden Courts of Louisville. Funeral services will be at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods at 1 p.m. Friday with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service. Sharon Hager

Sharon Lynn Hager, 65, of Huntington, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville by pastor Doug Spurlock. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens.
