Local trio run well at state XC meet

HEBRON — Three area runners turned up the pace as they ran in the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division II state cross country championships on Saturday.

Fairland Lady Dragons’ senior Shanan Ashton ran a 19:41.13 time to place No. 37 overall in a field of 137 runners.

Granville was the team champion with 86 points followed by Lexington with 87.

Rock Hill Redmen junior Seth Miller was No. 47overall in the 147-man field as he posted a 16:50.07 clocking.

Redmen sophomore Brendon McCormick was 97th as the registered a 17:24.56 time.
