Delpha Harris

Delpha Jane Harris, born Feb. 17, 1935, entered into rest on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014.

A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Siniaville United Methodist Church, 5454 Statts Mill Road, Ripley, West Virginia.

She retired from Huntington State Hospital after 35 years of faithful service.

She was preceded in death by her father, Luther N. Harris; mother, Luella Hite Harris; brothers, Leonard, Oral and pastor Carl Harris; sisters, Virginia Southall and Ruth Reynolds; and three grandsons.

Surviving family members are sister, Freda Brinker; brothers, Delbert, Ronald and Robert Harris; sons, David, Jeffrey and Ronald; sisters, Janice, Mary and Donna; grandchildren, Gregory, Richard, Quentin, Ronald, Andrew, Stephanie and Krystle; as well as multiple great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. All family and friends are welcome.

 

 

Keith Boyd

Oct. 15, 1930 — Oct. 29, 2014

 

Keith Eldon Boyd, 84, of South Point, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at a local health care center. The Ironton native was born Oct. 15, 1930, a son of the late William Earl Boyd and Katherine Owens Boyd. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Florence L. Skaggs Boyd, who passed away Feb. 7, 2014.

Mr. Boyd was a graduate of Ironton High School and was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a former employee of the Semet Solvay and the Ironton Coke Plant. He was a member of the International Pentecostal Church of Christ in Ashland.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Thurman Boyd, Steve Boyd, Ronald Boyd and Roger Boyd; and a sister, Brenda Ball.

He is survived by three sons, Michael S. Boyd, of Ashland, Keith Aaron Adkins, of Ironton, and Kelvin Boyd, of Portsmouth; two daughters, Pamela (Bob) Connors, of Ironton, and Diana Boyd, of South Point; two sisters, Judy Klautz and Arletta Brown; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton with the Rev. Lewis Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites by V.F.W. Post 8850. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Gloria Peek

Gloria Marie Peek, 90, of Huntington, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Memorial service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church in Huntington. Clarice Hall

Clarice I. Hall, 86, of Proctorville, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at Wyngate at RiversEdge in Proctorville. Her husband, Harvey Hall, survives her. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. There will be a gathering of friends and family 1:30-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Lillian Mae Dennison, 84, of Proctorville, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville by the Rev. Meredith Turley. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens.
