Marty Massie
Oct. 16, 1957 — Oct. 31, 2014
Marty Michael Massie, 57, of Huntington, formerly of Arabia, passed away Oct. 31, 2014, at his home in Huntington.
He was born Oct. 16, 1957, a son of the late Curt Arbaugh and the late Alberta Massie Arbaugh. Marty attended Symmes Valley High School, loved to fish and listen to music.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Arbaugh; and a brother, Curt Arbaugh.
He is survived by five brothers, Larry (Marie) Massie, of Florida, Randy Massie, of Michigan, Rick (Jessie) Arbaugh, of Arabia, Troy (Lori) Arbaugh, of Huntington, Megellan Arbaugh, of Chillicothe; three sisters, Cathy (Gary) Rice, of Chesapeake, Vickie (Ray) Cooper, of Ironton, Kim Arbaugh of Ironton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Huff officiating. Burial will follow in the Bradshaw Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the chapel.
His brothers and sisters have entrusted his care to the Brown Funeral Chapel in Ironton.
Charles Stevens
April 28, 1927 — Nov. 5, 2014
Charles “Buck” D. Stevens, 87, of South Point, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at his residence. The Raceland native was born April 28, 1927, a son to the late Charles M. and Ruth Stevens. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Pennington-Carey Stevens, whom he married May 2008.
Mr. Stevens was a graduate of Raceland High School and was a U.S. Army and Navy veteran. He was a retired foreman for Armco. He was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne Duranze Stevens; two sisters, Betty Waddell and Gloria Bowling; and a brother, James Stevens.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sisters, Glenna Barker, of Raceland, Bonnie Abrams, of Raceland, and Patty Witten, of Flatwoods; three stepchildren, Steve (Lisa) Carey, of Flatwoods, Teresa (Tim) Abshire, of South Point, and Tammy (Steve Taylor) Hey, of Chesapeake, Virginia; three stepgrandchildren, Mike Hey, of Chesapeake, Luke (Ashley) Carey and Dylan Carey, all of Flatwoods; three great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Tanner and Hunter Hey, of Chesapeake; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home with minister Randy Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post 8850. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Elizabeth Mittendorf
Jan. 6, 1956 — Nov. 4, 2014
Elizabeth Jane Mittendorf, 58, of Ironton, died Tuesday Nov. 4, 2014, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. She was born Jan. 6, 1956, the daughter of the late Anthony R. and Betty Lambert Acquista.
She was a member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church. She was the wife of Rusty Mittendorf, and the mother of Sarah Mittendorf and Chris Mittendorf, both of Ironton.
She is also survived by two sisters, Karen Barron and Jean Gibson, of South Point.
Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and donations are requested to be made to St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
Michael Fountain
Michael Preston Fountain, 69, of Proctorville, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014 at home. Private family services will be held. Arrangements are by Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville.
Lewis Griffin
Lewis Griffin, 88, of Chesapeake, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, at his residence. Funeral service will be noon Friday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with pastor Tim Jenkins officiating.
