Anthony Blackburn

Anthony Michael Blackburn, newborn son of Amanda Colleen Blackburn of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington.

In addition to Anthony’s mother, he is survived by a sister, Ashlee Marie Blackburn, of Ironton; two brothers, Michael Anthony Blackburn and Isaac James Blackburn, both of Ironton; a half sister, Kayla Ferguson, of Ironton; and four aunts, Iva Easterling, Kathy Jenkins, Kenna Ison, all of Ironton, and Lisa Blackburn, of Columbus.

Ruth Bruce

Sept. 6, 1937 — Nov. 10, 2014

 

Ruth Marie Littlejohn Bruce, 77, of Willow Wood, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. She was born Sept. 6, 1937, in West Virginia, to the late Harold and Bonnie Littlejohn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Kenneth Bruce; and six siblings.

She is survived by five children, Karen (Tim) Jett, Gina (Jerry) Kincer, Kenneth Michael (Sondra) Bruce, Rhonda Boyd and Bonnie (Greg) Richards; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, George (Karen) Littlejohn; and numerous nieces and nephews. She attended Forest Ridge Church and worked at Kmart for many years. She was loved by many.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Ernest McKnight

Oct. 1, 1950 — Nov. 4, 2014

 

Ernest Franklin McKnight Jr., 64, of Kitts Hill, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, at his residence. The Lawrence County native was born Oct. 1, 1950, a son of Faye Martin McKnight, of Ironton, and the late Ernest Franklin McKnight Sr.

Mr. McKnight received his GED from Ironton High School, was a former dog warden for Lawrence County and a correctional officer for the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville. He liked shooting guns, and working on and painting cars. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by four sons, Rick (Selena) McKnight, Brian (Bertha) McKnight, Eric (Lacy) McKnight, all of Ironton, and Chad McKnight, of Kitts Hill; a brother; a sister; 10 grandchildren, Tara McKnight, Rick McKnight Jr., Nathan McKnight, Tiffanie McKnight, Damian McKnight, Kristen McKnight, Landen McKnight, Leland McKnight, Haley McKnight, and Ethan McKnight; and three great-grandchildren, Damien Price, Siana Price and Emma McKnight.

Rosemary Crabtree

Rosemary Crabtree, 59, of Ironton, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at her home. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.

Sally Arenda Burns, 42, of Huntington, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at home. There will be no services. Arrangements are by Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville.
