Mary Boll
Sister Mary Paulette (Mary Theresa Boll) went to her Lord on Nov. 8, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, George A. and Emelia Orthmeyer Boll, of Pine Creek.
Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Joseph, Herman, Anthony and George Boll; and five sisters, Martha Boll, Genevieve Boll, Clara Medinger, Agnes Kline and Sister Mary Monica Boll. Sister Paulette is survived by two sisters, Margaret Schwab and Bernadette (Mike) Kinney, of Ironton; and one sister-in-law, Ruby Boll. She will be lovingly missed by her family and many nieces and nephews.
She was a 1944 graduate of Pedro High School, earned a bachelor’s degree from Rio Grande and St. Mary’s of the Springs College, then became a Dominican Sister of Peace at St. Mary’s of the Springs Convent. She was a teacher in Columbus, Lancaster, Steubenville and principal at Newark Catholic. She did missionary work in Chimbote, Peru, for 12 years. She was a Sister for 61 years.
Visitation was 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, at 3 p.m. at the Dominican Motherhouse in Columbus. The Funeral Mass was 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014 with Father John Boll as celebrant. Burial following the service in St. Joseph Cemetery in Columbus. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Dominican Sisters of Peace, 2320 Airport Drive, Columbus, OH 43219.
Millard Baldwin
July 30, 1954 — Nov. 12, 2014
Millard Jay Baldwin, 60, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, at the Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington. The Portsmouth native was born July 30, 1954, a son of the late William Robert Baldwin and Evelyn Mollett Baldwin. He is survived by his wife, Betty Ferguson Baldwin, whom he married Nov. 1, 1974.
Millard attended Green High School and was a former employee for the Leon Coal Company in Catlettsburg. He also attended the Living Word Church in Wheelersburg.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Baldwin, of Franklin Furnace, and Millard (Dana) Baldwin Jr., of Columbus; a daughter, Adrian (Richard) Moore, of Cincinnati; four brothers, Clifford (Alberta) Baldwin, Steve Baldwin, Larry (Dee) Baldwin and Kenny Baldwin, all of Franklin Furnace; four sisters, Nilda (Glenn) Burke, of Wheelersburg, Linda (Dave) Carver, of New Boston, Juna Baldwin, of Ironton, and Mildred Baldwin, of Franklin Furnace; two grandchildren, Jacob Baldwin, of Franklin Furnace, and Allie (Matt) Keyser Whisner, of Cincinnati; and two great-grandchildren, Emma and Bentley Whisner, of Cincinnati.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Riley Baldridge officiating. Burial will follow in Mollett Cemetery and visitation will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Rosemary Crabtree
Aug. 24, 1955 — Nov. 11, 2014
Rosemary Crabtree, 59, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at her residence. The Ironton native was born Aug. 24, 1955, a daughter of Charles Ervin, of Ironton, and the late Joann Hall Ervin.
Mrs. Crabtree attended Rock Hill High School and was a member of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed watching TV, movies, loved Elvis and liked playing cards.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Victoria Mae Mathews; and her boyfriend of 21 years, James Mulbay.
In addition to her father, she is survived by a son, Ronald Crabtree Jr., of Elkhart, Indiana; a daughter, Brittany Crabtree, of Ironton; three sisters, Kaye Wilson and Janie Johnson, both of Ironton, and Denise Garvey, of Ashland; two brothers, Roger Ervin, of Flatwoods, and Charles Ervin Jr., of Pedro; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Penny Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Chester Horner
Chester Paul Horner, 72, of Ironton, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, at a local health care center. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.
