Volunteers deserve thanks

Over the coming days and weeks leading up to Christmas, several events aim to get Lawrence County residents in the holiday spirit.
Moving forward, a myriad of events will highlight the holidays around the county.
Like with most events around the county and region, the majority are planned and completed with volunteers who work diligently to ensure their event or community shines during the Christmas season.
It is important to take the time to say “thank you” to those who work tirelessly and in some cases for many weeks and even months, to ensure their event goes off without a hitch.
In most cases, these are thankless jobs for those involved but they would not have it any other way.
These organizations do not put on these events for the notoriety, but rather to help showcase their community and bring some Christmas joy to others.
Ultimately, whether you attend a Christmas tree lighting, a parade or another event throughout the county, it means a great deal for these volunteers to see their hard work pay off by seeing the faces of adults and children alike.
Let us take the time to show those volunteers our appreciation for their efforts.
