HECLA — Everyone has to eat. Upper Township Fire Department is providing an opportunity to do just that from noon-4 p.m. on Saturday at its spaghetti dinner fundraiser.

“The proceeds will go to buy equipment and things,” J.D. Pancake, Upper Township Fire Department Chief, said. “Plus, our secondary engine needs replaced. It’s a 1986 model and is pretty outdated when it comes to requirements we have to meet.”

Dinners are $5 and include drink, spaghetti and bread.

In conjunction with the spaghetti dinner, discounted 5.11 Tactical apparel will be sold by All-American Fire Equipment of Ona, West Virginia. The 5.11 Tactical brand is popular among law enforcement, military and firefighting professionals.

“Keep in mind 5.11 items can make great Christmas gifts,” Pancake said.

The dinner is at the fire station at 3402 State Route 141 and is hosted by the Upper Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
