Don’t forget the unsung

Is there someone who goes above and beyond the norm or puts his or her family and community above themselves without ever looking to be recognized?

The Tribune wants to hear about these people so they can receive the recognition they deserve.

One of the things that makes these individuals distinctive and “Unsung Heroes” is they simply want to help others first.

Just as in past years, The Tribune will feature several of those nominees in its annual Profile edition, which publishes on Feb. 22, 2015.

The nomination form will continue to be printed in the Tribune in the coming days and weeks. People can also write or type the nomination and send it to us. The nomination form can also be found on the Tribune’s Facebook page.

Nominations must be received by Friday, Jan. 16.

A nomination should include the person’s name, address and phone number for verification purposes. If requested, the person making the nomination can have his or her identity protected, and people may nominate as many “Unsung Heroes” as they like.

The Profile edition is the best and one of the largest publications the Tribune produces each year, featuring the people, places and things that make our county and region special.

These “Unsung Heroes” are a big part of the reason.
