PORTSMOUTH — A countdown clock in the Notre Dame locker room was used to lead up to Saturday’s game with the St. Joseph Female Flyers.

Looks like they’ll have to reset the clock.

The Female Flyers used every second of the game and some two big steals by Lynsey Booker in the final two minutes to rally for a 51-47 win over the Lady Titans.

“We were going into the locker room at the half and I asked the girls, ‘Did you see that sign?’ The girls said, ‘Yeah.’ I told them ‘Let’s go out and take care of business,’” said St. Joseph coach Nick Miller.

With less than 1:30 to play and St. Joseph down 3, Booker had a steal and layup. On the Titans’ next possession, Booker had another steal and Haley Bartram’s offensive rebound and pass to Bri Bridges led to a layup to put the Female Flyers head.

The Lady Titans missed a shot and Hannah Miller was fouled. She hit both attempts for a 3-point lead.

Brooke Pierron scored but Miler was fouled on the inbounds and sank both free throws. Another Notre Dame miss and foul put Amber Neal at the line and she hit a foul shot to set the final score.

“Lynsey Booker made two straight big plays. She came up big at the end and Hannah played solid the whole game,” said coach Miller.

“It’s a great rivalry game. Both teams played hard and competed hard. It was pretty nice to be able to come back and win in their gym for the second year in a row.”

St. Joseph (3-0) was led by Miller with 20 points and Booker with 13.

Notre Dame (2-1) was paced by Pierron and Hagen Schafer with 16 points each.

The game was tied 25-25 at the half and the Lady Titans were up 37-25 at the end of the third quarter.

St. Joseph hosts Division IV defending state champion Eastern Meigs on Thursday.
