WILLOW WOOD — A basketball court is 94 feet long and the Rock Hill Redmen played on every inch of it Saturday night.

The Redmen used a complete effort on offense and defense as they beat the Symmes Valley Vikings 87-60.

“We got after it on both ends of the floor,” said Rock Hill coach Dave Hopper.

“Defensively we got after them and offensively we shot well from the start. It always helps to start out hitting. It gets the confidence going.”

Austin Collins got after for the Redmen with a game-high 33 points to go with 9 rebounds and 7 assists.

Jake Falls scored 16 as Rock Hill improved to 2-1.

Collin Webb scored 16 and Payton Hayes had 11 for the Vikings (0-3).

Collins hit three 3-pointers and scored 13 points and Falls had 6 points as Rock Hill jumped took a 24-10 first quarter lead.

Blake Sells hit a pair of treys in the quarter for the Vikings.

Collins scored 12 more points in the second quarter as the lead went to 45-28 at the half. Hayes scored 8 of his points in the quarter.

Webb hit three 3-pointers and scored 11 points in the third quarter, but Trystan Matney and Falls scored 6 points each as Rock Hill pulled in front 67-44.

On Tuesday, Rock Hill hosts Chesapeake and Symmes Valley will entertain Green.
