Betty Reffitt

Betty Reffitt, 81, of Ironton, died Tuesday Dec. 16, 2014, at Batavia Nursing Home and Convalescent Center in Batavia. She was born Dec. 20, 1932, in Ashland, to the late Thomas and Nora Hortance Dunlapp Russell. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Gene C. and Eric Donta Reffitt; daughter-in-law, Betty R. Reffitt, and lifelong companion, Newt Yancy. She is survived by her sons, Paul and Teresa Reffitt, Mike and Teresa Reffitt, David Reffitt and Dwayne Reffitt; and daughters, Vickie Reffitt and Lola Louise and Bryan Gumbert; 22 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Stepchildren include Dave, Jim, Barb and Annette Yancy, and many step grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

 

 

Olivia Galford

Olivia “Pearl” Galford, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at Winchester Place Nursing and Rehab in Canal Winchester.

She was a member of Parsons Baptist Church and preceded in death by husband, Thurman Dewey Galford; daughters, Donna Sue Galford and Rosalee Bosley; and stepson, Jimmy Richard Galford.

She is survived by son, George Michael (Christy) Bosley; many nieces and nephews; and special friends and caretakers, Dan and Wilma Watkins.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the O.R. Woodyard Co. Chapel, 1346 S. High St. in Columbus. Pastor Jeremy Mollenkopf and pastor Terry Jesse will be officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Monday in Obetz Cemetery.

 

 

Ruth Taylor

Ruth May Brammer Taylor, 78, of Columbus, formerly of Ironton, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, at the Mt. Carmel West Hospital in Columbus. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the Ice Creek Missionary Baptist Church with pastor Todd Warner officiating. Burial will follow in the Ice Creek Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to services at the church. The family has entrusted her care to Brown Funeral Chapel at Ironton.

 

 

Bethel Caudill

Bethel Caudill, 78, of Ironton, died Friday Dec. 12, 2014, at the Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell. He was cremated. The family has entrusted his care to Brown Funeral Chapel at Ironton.

 

 

Joseph Adams

Joseph Frank Adams, 84, of South Point, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Adams. Arrangements are pending at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home in Chesapeake.

 

 

Elsie Aliff

Elsie M. Aliff, 78, of Proctorville, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville by pastor Meredith Turley.
