South Gallia tops Vikings

MERCERVILLE — Ouch.

The South Gallia Rebels were hot and nothing could cool them off as they beat the Symmes Valley Vikings 90-42 on Tuesday.

The Rebels had five players in double figures and made eight 3-pointers en route to the win.

“We just didn’t compete. It’s that simple,” said Vikings’ coach Donnie Saunders.

Brayden Greer scored 22 points and Devin Lucas scored 19 including five 3-pointers. Kane Hutchinson had 14 points while Landon Hutchinson and Dustin Hornsby added 10 each.

Jacob Klaiber and Matt Rutt scored 8 points each for the Vikings (1-6).

The Rebels jumped out to a 27-10 first quarter lead and it was 54-18 at the half.

The Vikings had just 4 points in the third quarter as the lead grew to 75-22.

Symmes Valley visits New Boston on Jan. 6.
