Farm Credit Mid-America scholarship deadline Feb. 27

Farm Credit Mid-America offers several $1,500 and $1,000 scholarships to customers and children or grandchildren of customers. Any career major is eligible to apply, however, preference will be given to students pursuing agriculture-related careers.

“Scholarships will be awarded based on academic record, leadership qualities and community involvement,” Isaac Singer, Farm Credit financial services officer, said. “Education is one true way to make a difference in our communities and we can think of no better way to provide that support than investing in our young adults who choose to remain at the forefront of the agriculture industry.”

Additionally, applicants must:

• be a customer (or child, grandchild or spouse) of Farm Credit Mid-America that serves Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee;

• be an incoming college freshmen sophomore, junior or senior in good standing;

• attend a higher education institution within the next year (two-year and four-year universities);

• have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0; and

• have an agriculture background or work-related experience in agriculture.

Employees/directors of Farm Credit Mid-America and their children are not eligible to apply.

In addition to the Customer Scholarship Program, Farm Credit Mid-America offers scholarships at several universities throughout Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee. More information on these scholarships can be obtained by contacting a college’s agriculture department or campus career office.
