Lilian Boyle

Lilian M. Boyle, 88, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away on Friday, Dec. 5, 2014.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Dennis Krueger, of Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Justin and Stacy Krueger, of Dacula, Georgia, and Kimberly and Mark Giffin, of Lima; great-grandchildren, Logan Krueger, Jackson Krueger and Kendall Krueger, all of Dacula, and Alison Giffin and Harrison Giffin, both of Lima.

The memorial service to celebrate the life of Lilian M. Boyle will be 11 a.m. Monday at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel.

James Mays

Jan. 9, 1933 — Dec. 23, 2014

 

James Edward Mays, 81, of Kitts Hill, passed away peacefully at his home, Dec. 23, 2014. The Kitts Hill native was born Jan. 9, 1933, the son of the late Homer Milroy and Katherine Lucille Gore Mays. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Homer Dale and Donald Eugene Mays.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosemary Wellman Mays, whom he married, Oct. 26, 1956, in Huntington; three daughters, Kathy Ann (David) Christian, of Ironton, Lori (Randy) Mains, of Kitts Hill, and Debbie Horn and her fiancé, Dr. Joju Variath; one brother, Billy Ray (Glenda) Mays, of Kitts Hill; three grandchildren, Lisa Ann (Gary) Kelley, of Kitts Hill, Zachary Christian, of Ironton, and Trevor (Cassandra) Horn, of Kitts Hill; five great-grandboys, Chancelor Christian, Stephen Elijah Horn, Chase David Kelley, Trevor Levi Horn and Ryder James Kelley; many special nieces and nephews; and former son-in-law, Stephen Horn.

Ed was employed by the Dayton Malleable Iron Company as an electrician for 33 years before retiring. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, stationed in Salzburg, Austria. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite, the York Rite, UCT, and a Shriner. Ed was of the Baptist faith and a high point of his life was his visit to the Holy Land with his father, Homer, in December 1970.

Graveside services will be noon Saturday in Mamre Cemetery with military graveside rites by the VFW Post 8850 and brother Jerry Lavender officiating. There will be no public visitation. The Masons will be serving as the pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave., Ashland, KY 41101. Martha Morrison

Feb. 17, 1932 — Dec. 23, 2014

 

Martha Ann Morrison, 82, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at a local health care facility. The Ashland native was born Feb. 17, 1932, a daughter of the late Jess and Elizabeth Fillgrove Carroll. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Richard Lee Morrison.

Mrs. Morrison attended Hanging Rock Schools, was a homemaker and the former owner/operator of The Cake Shop.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deana Lynn White; and her brother, John Christian.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Stephen Lee Morrison, of Ironton; seven grandchildren, Ryan Morrison, Jeremy Morrison, Aaron Morrison, Zackery Morrison, Amber Ray, Nathan White, and Jessie Morrison; and several great grandchildren.

Donald Hughes

Donald James Hughes, 37, of South Point, husband of Jamie F. Gilbert Hughes, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point. Visitation is two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

 

 

Paul Hunt

Paul Edward Hunt, 84, of Proctorville, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation in Huntington. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
