COAL GROVE — Forget the fireworks. The Coal Grove Hornets’ offense was the most explosive thing in the second half on Saturday.

Coal Grove (2-5) trailed by 10 points at the half but roared back in the second half to outscore Maple Heights 45-25.
Maple Heights jumped out to a 17-7 first quarter lead and each team scored 10 points in the second quarter and it was 27-17 at the half.
But the Hornets held the Mustangs to 6 points and Carey and Adkins had 4 points each as Coal Grove rallied to go up 35-33 at the end of the third quarter.
Carey got hot in the fourth quarter as he scored 14 points including four straight 3-pointers and the Hornets converted 8 of 13 from the foul line to outscore the Mustangs 27-19.
Joe Schmook had 15 points — all on 3-pointers — and Maurice Wilson 11 points to lead the Mustangs.
