Christmas camp set
RIO GRANDE — The Rio Basketball Christmas Camp for boys and girls is scheduled for noon-2 pm. Dec. 29-31 each day at the University of Rio Grande’s Newt Oliver Arena.
Camp fee is $40 for boys and girls in grades 2-8.
The camp will be conducted by Rio Grande men’s basketball head coach Ken French, his staff and current members of the RedStorm program.

K. of C. 1405 to have
New Year’s Eve bash
The New Year’s Eve Bash and $10,000 drawing will be on New Year’s eve at the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1405 in Ironton.
Ticket donations for the $10,000 drawing are available from any Knight or by calling the K. of C. at 740-533-1405. Dinner will be before the drawing and music will be provided following the drawing.
Baseball & softball umpire class offered
The Ironton Chapter of high school baseball and softball umpires — in conjunction with the Ohio High School Athletic Association — will offer the OHSAA approved umpiring course for baseball and softball starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, at Chesapeake Middle School.
Class fee is $140 for baseball and $140 for softball. The class will consist of rule interpretation, mechanics, umpiring basics and on-field scrimmages.
