Richard Morris

Richard Lee Morris, 77 of Kitts Hill, passed away Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. The Kitts Hill native was born Oct. 8, 1937 the son of the late Frank D. and Freda Clay Abrams.

Mr. Morris attended Kitts Hill Schools and was a self-employed laborer. He was also a member of Rock Camp Methodist Church. Richard loved to hunt, watch TV, go to ball games and watch NASCAR.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Marcella Butler; three brothers, Raymond and William Morris, and Kenny Turner; and a nephew, Gary Morris.

He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Hobart Baker of Orient; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Frank and Donna Morris Jr. of Columbus, and Shelia Morris of Ironton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with pastor Brad Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Mamre Cemetery. Leland K. Creed, 88, of Russell, Kentucky, died on Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at Trinity Station Retirement Community in Flatwoods, Kentucky. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, Flatwoods, Kentucky, with the Rev. Lloyd L. Bailey officiating.
