Pete Cox

Robert “Pete” Cox, 56, of Pedro, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell. The Gallipolis native was born Feb. 5, 1958, a son of the late Charley and Helen Luckett Cox.

Pete was a 1979 graduate of Rock Hill High School. He was a former employee for South Gallia High School and the Rock Hill School District, was of the Pentecostal faith and a volunteer for the Decatur Fire Department for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers. Junior Cox, Frank Cox and Larry Cox.

He is survived by three brothers, Ed Cox, of Gallia County, Otis Cox and Michael Cox, both of Pedro; and two sisters, Betty Corbin, of Portsmouth, and Barb Spencer, of Gallia County.

Jean Ferris

Jean Ferris, 88, of Willow Wood, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville by Pastor Gordon Simpson. Burial will follow in Perkins Ridge Cemetery in Willow Wood. Gary Hesson

Gary Donald Hesson, 74, of Sebring, Florida, formerly of Chesapeake, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at home. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

 

 

Annabelle Weber

Charles Lucas

Charles Lucas, 85, of Proctorville, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington. He is survived by his wife, Venora Lucas. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete.

 

 

Auretta Malone

Auretta D. Malone, 79, of Largo, Florida, died Wednesday, Dec. 24,2014. She was born in Ironton.

She was a member of Westside Church of Nazarene in Largo and will be greatly missed by her family.

Auretta is survived by her husband, Forest, of 58 years; daughter, Debra K. Malone Underwood, of Ashville; son, Forest Michael Malone, of New Boston; and sister, Yvonne Miles, of Marion. She is also survived by four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Service will be at 10 a.m. today at the Westside Church of Nazarene.
