PEDRO — Can opener, please.

The Rock Hill Redmen must have thought there was a lid on the basket as they lost 49-46 to the Gallipolis Blue Devils on Tuesday.

“We fought and played defense okay, we just couldn’t put it in the hole,” said Rock Hill coach Dave Hopper.

“We missed shots we’re supposed to make. We missed so many layups I can’t count them.”

Austin Collins had 13 points and 10 rebounds while Austin Barcus scored 12 points to pace the Redmen (2-5). Tanner Martin grabbed 9 rebounds in his first start.

Wes Jarrell scored 13 points and Michael Putney 12 to lead the Blue Devils (2-8).

But Putney and Jarrell scored 6 points each in the third quarter as Gallipolis rallied to tie the game at 32.
