eveloping a plan is essential for almost anything in life.

This is especially the case when dealing with a structure and the future of the site where the former Glad Tidings bookstore was recently demolished after the fire in downtown Ironton on Nov. 15.

Immediately after the fire, a portion of South Third Street was closed for a period of time followed by the demolition of the building for safety purposes when the walls of the building became unstable.

This was the correct decision for public safety.

Now that the demolition and clean up are nearly complete, working together with the city and building owners to determine the future of the site will be essential.

Teamwork and developing a plan is key to ensure the space is used to benefit the owners of the building, the city and residents.

It is also important to include those business owners who have locations in close proximity to provide support to get their operations back up and running at normal levels.

Ultimately, the owners of the building will determine the future of the space and their respective businesses.

Working together as a group will benefit everyone in the long run.
