Ohio falls to Huskies

ATHENS (AP) — Aaric Armstead scored 17 points as Northern Illinois beat Ohio 70-60 in the Mid-American Conference opener for both teams on Wednesday night.
Travon Baker added 15 points off the bench for the Eagles (7-5, 1-0). Pete Rakocevic had 12 points and led the team with seven boards. Jordan Threloff chipped in 11 points. The team sank 43.4 percent from the field overall, 86.4 percent from the line and went 5 of 11 (45.5 percent) from distance.
Ohio jumped to an 11-2 lead early in the first period but the Huskies clawed back to tie it, 32-32, on an Armstead 3-pointer to end the half.
Leading 53-48 late in the second half, the Huskies went on a 7-2 run for a 60-50 advantage with four minutes remaining and held on for the win.
Maurice Daly Ndour had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Bobcats (5-7, 0-1).
