Potential scam: Huntington Area Habitat for Humanity not seeking door-to-door solicitations
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Staff of Huntington WV Area Habitat for Humanity were notified last week by a resident of Barboursville of a potential scam involving the affiliate.
According to the resident, four men knocked on the front door of his home and stated they were with Habitat for Humanity.
Huntington WV Area Habitat for Humanity wishes to warn local residents and businesses that the organization is not seeking door-to-door donations. If you are approached by individuals who claim to be raising money for Habitat for Humanity, please notify the authorities when it is safe to do so.
